Overview
NG-jSS7 is the next-generation SS7 protocol stack that powers our signaling gateways, SMS centers and roaming hubs. It is a Java 25-native implementation of the MAP, CAP, TCAP, SCCP, MTP3 and SIGTRAN/M3UA layers, modernized with JCTools lock-free collections and XStream serialization for predictable latency at massive scale.
Protocol Stack Architecture
Full SS7/SIGTRAN stack — dual transport: classical TDM (MTP1/2/3) and IP (SCTP/M3UA).
Key Features
- Modern collections: JCTools lock-free queues/maps replace legacy Javolution.
- Full protocol coverage: MAP, CAP, TCAP, SCCP, MTP3, ISUP and SIGTRAN (M3UA/SUA/IUA).
- Predictable latency: Lock-free data structures + XStream serialization reduce overhead and GC pressure.
- Carrier-grade throughput: High-throughput transaction processing for SS7 signaling workloads.
- Seamless integration: Works as the RA layer under micro-jainslee SBBs.
Use Cases
- Mobile network signaling gateways
- Roaming and interconnection hubs
- SMS and USSD service centers
- Number portability and location services
Status
NG-jSS7 is production-ready and deployed in carrier networks. The open-source repository hosts the core protocol implementation; enterprise clustering and support packages are available commercially.
