SilentAuthentication (3GPP TS.43 / CAMARA Number Verification)

Beta

Overview

SilentAuthentication enables password-less, seamless subscriber authentication using the mobile network identity. Based on 3GPP TS.43 and the CAMARA Number Verification API, it lets banks and fintech apps verify users silently through the mobile operator, improving security and reducing friction in digital onboarding.

Silent Authentication Flow (3GPP TS.43 / CAMARA)

Silent Authentication Flow (3GPP TS.43)

Password-less network identity proof — the SDK sends the cellular session tuple (srcIP, srcPort, timestamp, claimed MSISDN) to the entitlement service, which resolves IP → MSISDN via the PCRF, then verifies the live, non-SIM-swapped subscriber over MAP (2G/3G) or Diameter S6a (4G/5G) against the HLR/HSS — no SMS, no user password.

Silent Authentication over Wi-Fi (TS.43 / EAP-AKA)

Silent Authentication — Wi-Fi Flow (TS.43 / EAP-AKA)

The cellular IP-match method has no binding on Wi-Fi-only devices, so the Wi-Fi path pivots on the SIM credential instead. The bank app keeps the SIM (IMSI/MSISDN) while attached to a trusted WLAN; the 3GPP AAA terminates EAP-AKA over Diameter STa (trusted/ePDG access), fetches auth vectors from the HSS over SWx, and binds session/policy over S6w to the PCRF. A successful EAP-AKA run proves the device holds the claimed SIM — enabling password-less, SMS-free authentication off cellular. Fail-closed: EAP-AKA sync-failure, stale auth vectors or missing entitlement fall back to TOTP/Passkey/SIM-OTP.

Key Features

  • 3GPP TS.43 / CAMARA compliant: Standardized network-side authentication flow.
  • No user password: Authentication is tied to the mobile network identity.
  • Banking-grade security: Strong subscriber verification without credentials.
  • Fraud reduction: Mitigates SIM-swap and credential-theft risks.
  • REST API: Easy integration for banks, mobile operators and fintechs.

Use Cases

  • Mobile banking login
  • Fintech app onboarding
  • Secure transaction confirmation
  • Digital identity verification
